Driftwood Guitars

Whilst perusing the internet for tutorial videos on guitar making and alternative tone woods, I found Chris Alvarado’s Youtube Channel, and felt like I had struck gold. The videos were comprehensive, well lit and informative. The custom inlays alone are enough to make your mind melt and the instruments…..inspiring. And so it goes, as I was sitting in the maternity ward the day after our third child’s birth I thought it an appropriate time to reach out to Chris, via phone, regarding the Dark Forest Cypress…..and he picked up. Like many luthiers, Chris is nutty enough, in his tone wood searches, to drive over 12 hours to get his hands on quality timber, so obviously we instantly became best friends. Chris’s Dark Forest guitar is being paired with Black Heart Sassafras back and sides, Black Limba neck and Leopard wood appointments. It went to Eddie’s Guitars and I do not think it lasted even 48 hours, fantastic!!!!
